Our choice making

Every day we make decisions. We choose what to dress, the earrings we put, the shoes. The make up, if any. What method to pay our bills. The route we take to work.

I wonder if these kind of decisions are enough. We are pestered with adverts, with incentives, in such a persistent way, that many of the choices we consider our own, subconsciously, are not.

It is understandable that with the demands of society, we end up leaving higher and more important decisions to other people, to the liders, to the husband, to the teachers. And we allow ourselves to go with the tide. But. But. But. We must truly delve into making more informed choices. And not blindly trust others to chose for ourselves, only because it is more convenient. Even the decisions we make daily, about what to eat, when to rest, ought to be more conscious. No one can care for our well being more and better than ourselves.

Each choice has a repercussion. May it be a positive repercussion. Almost always.

A nossa tomada de escolha

Todos os dias tomamos decisões. Nós escolhemos o que vestir, os brincos que colocamos, os sapatos. A maquilhagem, se alguma. Qual o método de pagamento das nossas contas. O caminho que fazemos para o trabalho.

Eu pergunto-me se este tipo de decisão é suficiente. Somos importunados com anúncios, com incentivos, de forma tão persistente, que muitas das escolhas que consideramos nossas, inconscientemente, não o são.

É compreensível que, com as demandas da sociedade, acabemos deixando decisões maiores e mais importantes para outras pessoas, para os líderes, para o marido, para os professores. E nós permitirmos- nos ir com a maré. Mas. Mas. Mas. Devemos realmente aprofundar-nos em fazer escolhas mais informadas e sem pressão. E não confiar cegamente nos outros para escolher por nós mesmos, apenas porque é mais conveniente. Mesmo as decisões que tomamos diariamente, sobre o que comer, quando descansar, devem ser mais conscientes. Ninguém pode cuidar do nosso bem-estar mais e melhor do que nós mesmos. Cada escolha, tem uma repercussão. Que seja, uma repercussão positiva. Quase sempre.
